Friends of Abandoned Pets
Who We Are?
Friends of Abandoned Pets (FOAP) is an independent non-profit charitable organization situated in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
We are a group of dedicated and caring people who love animals and want to make a difference in our community. FOAP is sensitive to the plight of abandoned, homeless cats and dogs in our area, and are prepared to give our time and energy to help give them a second chance. We are all volunteers. Our reward is to see a frightened, often desperately thin, sometimes injured, homeless cat or dog blossom into a self-confident, happy pet in a loving home. We all help in our own way. Since we do not have a building in which to house animals, they stay in temporary foster homes until a permanent adoptive home is found.
FOAP is always in need of caring foster homes, who are willing to provide food, love, and shelter; FOAP pays for all veterinarian costs while they are under foster care. Once an animal is adopted, we charge an adoption fee to help recover some of the veterinarian expenses.
